Job Duties and Skills:
Impact Institute, located in Kendallville, Indiana, is seeking an instructor in its Welding program. The successful candidate will have proficient knowledge in Oxyacetylene Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, Plasma Cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, welding blueprints and symbols, non-destructive testing and safety/health regulations as related to the welding field. Impact’s Welding Instructor has the responsibility to prepare students to meet entry level knowledge and skill requirements in their specialty area. Our welding program is open to high school juniors and seniors from 13 high schools in Northeast Indiana.
Candidates should hold an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector credential AND Certified Welding Educator credential or have the ability to obtain these credentials within 2 years of hire; a current teaching license or the ability to obtain an Indiana Workplace Specialist license; and a minimum of 5 years work experience as a welder. In order to obtain a Workplace Specialist License, candidates must be able to provide documentation of either 6,000 clock hours of occupational experience within 5 years or 4,000 clock hours of occupational experience within the last 10 years and documentation of a two year Associate’s Degree or higher.
