Program Facilitator- CHANGE Academy

DeKalb County Community Corrections in Auburn, Indiana has an opening for a Program Facilitator.


Salary: $14.25/hour/Nonexempt

  1. Earned at minimum 30 hours of college credit
  2. Qualify for State of Indiana Substitute Educator Permit
  3. Be available to work 35 hours weekly; flexibility required during operational hours of Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:00 pm
  4. Proficiency in basic computer skills using common programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  5. Proficiency in secondary mathematics including Algebra and Geometry preferred
  6. Must possess a valid driver’s license
  7. Must pass criminal background check
  8. Must pass an Indiana Department of Child Services substantiated cases check

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Model Pro-Social behavior at all times and in all places
  2. Comply with any and all policies and procedures of DeKalb County Community Corrections and DeKalb County Government
  3. Understand and use the principles of evidenced based practices as a guide in interactions with program participants
  4. Maintain a safe, respectful environment that is conducive to learning
  5. Provide effective academic instruction of a standards-based online educational curriculum as approved by the IDOE
  6. Perform administrative duties that include answering phones, responding to calls, greeting visitors, filing, etc.
  7. Conduct drug screens as needed and maintain drug screen records
  8. Document all violations and process them appropriately
  9. Work collaboratively with personnel of DeKalb County schools, resource officers, DCS, Probation, service providers, volunteer organizations, and community stakeholders
  10. Assist the Juvenile Services Coordinator, DeKalb CHANGE Academy and DeKalb County Community Corrections staff as necessary
  11. Attend scheduled staff meetings as required
  12. Direct all efforts toward the attainment of program and departmental missions and to securing organizational stability

Additional Job Duties:

  1. Testify in court as needed
  2. File reports and obtain chronological case summaries from the courts as assigned
  3. Collect, open, sort, and distribute mail to appropriate personnel, and process outgoing mail
  4. Perform related duties as assigned

Basic Job Functions:

The teammate in this position will be responsible for all of, but not limited to, the following:

Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, designing and installing equipment.  This teammate will assist with process improvements and will provide customer service, support for operations,  A major emphasis for this role will be improving predictive and preventive maintenance, while reducing reactive.  Safety is the most important part of all  jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two year electrical degree or pursuing electrical degree and or five years industrial electrical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Leadership Experience

  • Electrical Engineering Degree

  • K knowledge of Allen-Bradley PanelView+, and ControlLogix

  • Process control design and troubleshooting

  • Demonstrated Auto Cad Experience

  • Experience working with vendors and contractors

  • Allan Bradley PLC Experience

  • AC & DC Motors, Drives, Demonstrated Electrical Controls Knowledge and Experience
