Executive Director – The Crew Youth Center

The Executive Director is the key management leader of The Crew Youth Center.  The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, staffing and strategic plan of the organization.  Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, community outreach, and networking with other organizations and community leaders.

GENERAL RESPONSIBIITIES:

    1. Board Governance:  Works with the Board of Directors (BOD) to fulfill the organization’s vision and mission.
      1. Responsible for leading The Crew in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the BOD.
      2. Responsible for communicating effectively with the BOD and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the BOD to function properly and to make informed decisions.
    2. Financial Performance & Viability:  Develops resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
      1. Responsible for the fiscal integrity of The Crew to include submission to the BOD of a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
      2. Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
      3. Responsible for fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support The Crew’s mission.  This includes regular grant writing.
      4. Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations.
    3. Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Strategy: Works with the BOD and staff to ensure that the  mission and vision are fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and by setting a culture that lives out The Crew’s core values.
      1. Responsible for the implementation of The Crew’s programs that carry out the organizations mission.
      2. Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence and rigorous program evaluation.
      3. Responsible for strategic planning to sure The Crew successfully fulfill its mission and vision into the future.
      4. Responsible for the enhancement of The Crew’s image by being active and visible in the community and working closely with other professional, civic, and private organizations.
    4. Administration & Operations:  Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
      1. Responsible for the effective administration of The Crew’s operations.
      2. Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
      3. With the consent of the BOD, is responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization. 

Professional Qualifications:

        • A bachelor’s degree in nonprofit leadership, organizational leadership, or similar is preferred
        • Transparent and high integrity of Christian leadership
        • 3-5 years of senior nonprofit management experience
        • Solid, hands-on financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and reporting
        • Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation
        • Ability to convey a vision of The Crew’s strategic future to staff, BOD, volunteers, donors, and the community
        • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector
        • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers
        • Strong written, social, and oral communication skills
        • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
        • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
        • Strong public speaking ability
        • Strong writing and story-telling skills in order to effectively write grants and share the story of The Crew

Job Responsibilities:

      1. Planning and operation of annual budget
      2. Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and the day-to-day operations of the organization.
      3. Serve as The Crew’s primary spokesperson to organization’s constituents, the media, and the public.
      4. Establish and maintain relationships with various organizations throughout the community and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance The Crew’s mission.
      5. Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising, and to increase the overall visibility of the organization throughout the community.
      6. Supervise, collaborate, and motivate staff.
      7. Strategic Planning and implementation.
      8. Coordinate The Crew’s board meetings.
      9. Oversee marketing and all other communications efforts.
      10. Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Salary & Benefits:

      • Salary range is $38,000 to $46,000 (The salary range is competitive based on experience and qualifications)
